It was a beautiful Sunday morning at the Los Angeles Jewish Home. Over 40 Guardians members, their family and friends enjoyed brunch, presentations and a 45 minute tour of the Home’s Eisenberg Village campus, surrounded by lush gardens. We listened to compelling and inspiring stories of how the Home is helping add dignity, meaning and a sense of well-being to the more than 1,000 residents. One of the residents told our President, Izzy Freeman: “Welcome to paradise.” Those three words were emblematic of just how well the residents are treated; it is truly remarkable.
As we strolled through the Campus, we enjoyed touring Fountainview, the Home’s continuing care retirement community and its latest addition. The
Saul Goldenberg-Richard Ziman Special Care Center; the Home’s award-winning facility for seniors requiring Alzheimer’s and dementia care is unlike any facility you have ever seen; the quality of care is outstanding and unsurpassed. Meeting and interacting with the residents of the Home confirms why we support this important Jewish institution and is proof of our dollars being used wisely.
The Guardians mission is to provide critical funding for the compassionate care of over 1,000 residents who, with our support, live out their lives actively and vigorously, with dignity, gratification and love.
